This “snail staircase” was tacked on to the 14th century Contarini Palace at the end of the 15th century.

    • Thanks! El Guapo faces challenges as blog photographer. When we’re out traveling, I’m pointing and asking, “can you photograph that one for me? And that one? How about this over here?” and when we get home, I’m asking, “Are the photos ready yet? I’ve got my ‘Wednesdays and Saturdays’ posting schedule….” I’m sure he’ll be glad to hear that his work is appreciated.
